In August 2016, I was given the opportunity to partner with Care2Foster SC, as a contributing photographer. Ever since we moved to SC in August 2014, I felt like God was talking to me about giving back to the community. I knew I wanted to be involved in foster care or adoption, but I didn't know how. We are a young, growing family, with small children. The idea of fostering or adopting didn't seem like a possibility because of our busy schedule. I do know that God will make room for the things he has planned for us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "for I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and future". I trust that one day, the doors will be open for us to bring life into our home. Until then, I am satisfied with the way that God is using me. He has opened my heart and he has shown me what is means to be selfless. He gave me a natural talent which enable me to capture priceless memories for others. In my eyes, photography isn't about making money or turning it revenue making business. Maybe one day that plan will change. This is the battle I have had since moving to SC -- how can I use my talent to give back to the community? I do believe this is step one. I am extremely grateful and hopeful.
“We live in a world in we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” -Fred Rogers
